In Ziya Tacir's (1968, Istanbul) works, the interior and exterior spaces of architecturally important buildings, the landscapes of today's metropolises, and the images offered by industry and production facilities take priority. While photographing the current state of the buildings, Ziya Tacir pays special attention to reflecting the old textures and architectural details from their history. Rediscovering spaces, the artist successfully interprets soft sepia tones and spaces with contrasting tones together, while dragging the viewer into a universe of phosphoric colors reproduced from sepia tones. The works of the artist are prepared in large sizes, chromogenic color printing and laminated to plexiglass.
