ERCAN AKIN'S “HYPNOSIS” EXHIBITION AT MERKUR
In his first personal exhibition at MERKUR, Ercan Akın hypnotizes our perceptions through his realistic figures which are assembled on optical backgrounds.
Treating the loneliness of modern humanity, the artist is showing our isolation within the life we live to the audience with a melancholic atmosphere.
In his paintings that he treated with a photo-realistic care on large-sized canvases, Ercan Akın evokes the moments when we were hypnotized during life through the large neutral colored areas, the cold light used with optical background, and the contrast between reality and imagination.
Ercan Akın's first personal exhibition titled "HYPNOSIS" will be open from October 18th to November 15th, 2010 at 10.00am to 19.00pm, excluding Sundays.
The artist graduated from the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Izmir Dokuz Eylul University in 2008 and he is currently working at his studio in Istanbul.
