ABDULKADİR ÖZTÜRK'S "LIVING IN Sculptures" EXHIBITION AT MERKUR
Abdülkadir Öztürk will meet his audience at MERKUR, where he will exhibit his new works after 27 years of long-term cooperation with the TEM Art gallery.
In his new exhibition, which can be viewed until 30 November, the artist; Based on the meanings of our feelings and thoughts, she deals with sculptures in an abstract form.
Ozturk; In his works, he shapes the fears, dreams and collective insight that we feed on every day, with abstract expressions that manage to stay alive in our inner emptiness. Works that lead the audience to question the concept of time; It reveals the expression of pre- and post-historical events and the silenced freedoms of eroticism. In the exhibition titled “Living in Sculptures”, it is seen that time and life are integrated with sculptures and actually exist simultaneously with each other.
The artist's views on the exhibition are as follows:
“The statues are fertile, female, protective and loving idols like a mother. Sacred, creative and libertarian. It has resisted all pressures, carved from traditional materials within aesthetic truths… I see sculptures, which are the expression of what our existence brings with it, as a whole of life. Among the statues I am, and within me are the statues.”
Inviting the viewer to a different experience, the abstract can be seen in a three-dimensional way; The exhibition titled “Living in Sculptures” by Abdülkadir Öztürk, one of Turkey's leading sculpture artists, who touches on the concepts of freedom, dreams and suppressed emotions, can be seen at MERKUR until 30 November 2017.
