“COMPLEX PLANE” EXHIBITION AT MERKUR
THE WORKS OF NINE YOUNG ARTISTS MEET AT THE COMPLEX PLANE EXHIBITION.
MERKUR is hosting the group exhibition “Complex Plane” between 25 December 2017 and 19 February 2018.
Curated by İpek Yeğinsü, the exhibition takes its subject from the geometrical equivalent of complex numbers used in many fields from engineering to computer science, from quantum physics to fractals. It examines the concept of complex plane, in which our perception of reality transformed by Postmodernity finds its purest expression, in today's day when all layers of the past, present and future melt and intertwine in the contextual plane, through techniques such as painting, sculpture and photography, instead of digital technologies that we usually associate it with.
The exhibition features works by Ahmet Duru, Aslı Aydemir, Deniz Defne Acerol, Gamze Zorlu, Görkem Dikel, Gözde Başkent, Kerem Ağralı, Melike Kılıç and Şener Yılmaz Aslan in different techniques such as painting, drawing, ceramics, paper cutting and photography.
Inviting the viewer to this stunning experience, Complex Plane is on view at MERKUR until February 19, 2018.
