SABİRE SUSUZ'S “CIN ALI AT THE EXHIBITION ” EXHIBITION AT MERKUR

Sabire Susuz, who is represented by Merkur, will be presenting her new works in her solo exhibition titled "GIN ALI AT THE EXHIBITION" between May 9 - 29, 2012.

The artist has used Cin Ali, who has become a popular culture image, as a basis for her works with her carefully selected uncolored drawings and paintings from the series of Cin Ali books, the first edition of which was published in 1968. Today, when "the image is uselessly perfected" in the name of art, the "illusion" that is the raison d'être of art and the work of art has almost disappeared. At this point, Sabire Susuz interprets the language of representation of the simplicity of the Cin Ali depiction and the illusion created by simplicity in her own unique style.
The artist explains the fiction of Cin Ali, which is in harmony with Sabire Susuz's simple narrative style, in the following words; "The one-dimensional forms of the figures reduced to almost a single line, the almost non-use of known painting rules, the presence of a certain and understandable rhythm, emotion, and even depth perception despite all this, put Cin Ali paintings as "classical works" created with illusion. This attitude overlaps with the simple language in my work and constitutes my starting point."
You can see his paintings, which he created by combining clothing labels with his unique technique based on his pixel art attitude, under the title "Cin Ali at the Exhibition" between May 9 - 29, 2012 at MERKUR.
