“HEAVY PAPER” EXHIBITION AT MERKUR

MERKUR comes forward with eight international artists for a new exhibition between 12 -30 September called “Heavy Paper”.

 

Denizhan Ozer is the curator of this exhibition. Elvan Erdin, Gulin Girismen, Maria Hinze, Maslen & Mehra, Seckin Pirim, Dallas Seltz, Duygu Suzen, Thurle Wrighy will be presenting their paper works and installations.

 

The exhibition is programmed as a parallel event to Istanbul Biennial and questions the today’s reality to make a resistance point.

 

“While opposites and deep contradictions can help the change of the knowledge, it can also make a new reality without damaging the constraction but this reality demolates on its own. Everything is virtually fiction in our day and that’s against the way paper provides evidance. Even though the situation comes this far, ‘paper’ still resists to fiction and gives meaning to life and art. In a right way of saying, there is a lot to explain with paper in eternity.”
