Canan Köse (1985, Balıkesir), an autodidactic artist, aims to show personal and social collapse as well as alienation from herself and society with her works. Inspired by international social issues and Chomsky's ideas on the fabrication of consent, the artist depicts reality in an imaginary context, using mismatched objects and human figures from the past and present. Canan Köse expresses her approach as follows: "Our connection with the past, our memories and our habits prevent us from looking objectively at the objects we see, the articles we read, the events or people we encounter, and they stand before us like a puzzle waiting to be solved. Capturing the similarities between current events and the past is like solving this puzzle.”
