“Strength and Fragility”

To me, painting is a way to find simplicity while realizing how complicated things are. Exploring art means to be able to endure contradictions and to stay curious about life. Last year, I decided for my Abschluss to change from figuration to abstraction. I was looking for an expression that shows the basic idea. A clear expression that shows my mental dance with confidence and strength while not pretending to be unbreakable. I asked what is left of painting if there is no story-telling: Line, color and form. The exhibited artworks start with a line which is separated into four lines, four is because of the four-color-field-theorem. But sometimes three lines looked better. I decided not to paint gradients but to find a way to paint room depth only with overlapping and the dimension of the lines. Except from the paintings of the Color-form-series, the line does not end with the painting. I wanted it to be infinite.

The color-form-Series has to do with my personal synesthesia. I tried to find the forms I associate with the painted colors while keeping my stylistic device. I tried with many colors, but only the four worked and matched with my imagination.
