SANTIAGO VILLANUEVA

blanca__miami-1511.jpeg

Since 1985, Santiago Villanueva (Madrid, 1964) combines the plastic arts with his studies at the Superior of Arqitecture University in Madrid, where he received the title of specialist in urbanism. The artist, whose works are intertwined with an intimate experience of time and body, and a search for an interior portrait that takes beauty as its main interlocutor, aims to arouse desire with his works rather than a simple visual pleasure or a tactile experience. The artist's works, which were born as a response to the abstract emotions he has been following obsessively since childhood, have traces of "Gestalt", a word that names the shape, configuration, "whole" in German as a product of a healing and perceptual action. . Each of his works is like the artist's response to the abstract emotions he has been following obsessively since childhood. Artist, Palma lives and works in Majorca.
