SERDAR KAYNAK'S “MALELARITY ANXIETY” EXHIBITION AT MERKUR

Serdar Kaynak's solo exhibition titled "Majority Anxiety"  opens at MERKUR on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

Majority Anxiety is an exhibition that instinctively focuses on the political fiction of our future, which is becoming increasingly uncertain and unpredictable with the advancing technology.

Taking the bees, who form a social structure and political order with the forms of communication that are already existing in nature and based on the automatic functioning of organic codes, at the center of the Majority Anxiety exhibition, interprets this political order and creates fictions in the abyss of utopias and dystopias.

In the exhibition, the political lives of bees begin in cocoons in the work titled Acceptance, and after an ecosystem in which desire gradually begins to crystallize in The Desire of the Majority, but still reminiscent of an innocent spring, in the work called Invasion, excesses begin to dominate with an aesthetic that makes reference to kitche.

It is also noteworthy that Serdar Kaynak creates almost all the works in the exhibition with organic materials, while at the same time using chemical reactions that will give them their identity in each of them, leading to the root of the power relationship in the context of immanence to the subject. This situation, which is reflected in the identity of the works, creates a unity with visual aesthetics in the context of immanence to the subject, in all of the works and throughout the exhibition.

Majority Anxiety can be watched on MERKUR between 3- 27 April 2019.
